our school provide secured job, which you don't have to come and running around for job interview,
and they provide tax free, you don't pay tax,
and this is a elementary school, all the 7 foreigner teacher will teach at the same school! Students level will be G1~G6.

the contract from Dec 1st 2009 to end of Jun 2010.
work five (5) days a week, and eight (8) hours per day, from 8:30 am. To 16:30 pm. Basic Teaching Load of up to 100 periods per month.
total 6 months contract.
Monthly salary is $NTD 60890, plus housing subsidy $NTD 3000, plus attendance bonus $NTD 2000, another NTD$ 40,000 performance incentive will be payable to Party B with the performance rating.
Insurance：Party B is required to enroll in the National Health Insurance Policy and the Labor Insurance Program, and is obligated to pay, in accordance with the laws, at His/her own expense, a portion of the insurance premium in an amount equal to 30% of the total premium charged to him/her under the National Health Insurance Policy, and an amount equal to 20% of the total premium charged to him/her under the Labor Insurance Program, respectively.
Teacher shall be entitled to a 7-work-day annual leave with pay, which should be taken within the winter vacations.

01. this school only need teacher to teach "conversation" ONLY, and they use two magazine, one call live magazine, another onw is ABC magazine, I scan few pages of the magazine, enclosed them in this email, please take a look on them, and let me know these magazine is no problem with you?
02. how big are the classes and what part of Taiwan is this...
02. the class size about 35~40 students, and you might think that is a lot, but the school already have another 4~5 foreigner teachers, and at the first, they felt the same way you do, but once they actuality start teaching, they normally find out that is not very difficult, becasue the school also understand you can not cover every each of them at the big class like this, so you just do your best, and there are always some that very keen to study, which you can focus on them, as for others, you still try to make them keep up, I think everywhere about the same, kids is kids, there is always some who are very keen to study, and some are not...
and the school located in north east art of TAIWAN, which is here, you can see from the pics below :
the school in northeast, near Taiepi, if you go with Hsuehshan Tunnel, only 40 mins ~ 50 mins can get you to Taipei, however if you get this job in ILAN city, I will help you rent an apartment in ILAN city, because I don't think you want to take bus everyday like 40 mins ~ 50 mins to get tot work, but you might need a second hand bicycle. the ILAN city train station area are quite a busy city, you can get everything... during the weekend, you can take bus to Taipeo with only 40~50 mins, but during the weekday, you can enjoy the beautiful area, and clean air/ water, no polluted, a very healthy area for you to live, and because it 's on the east side of TAIWAN, you can see the Pacific Ocean! how beautiful!
03. I am specialized in teaching Language arts, reading and health. I am not prepared to teach junior high math or sciencre.
03. that's GREAT! no need to teach any math or sciencre, only Language conversation, use those two magazine, that is all! and this is a super big high school/junior high, and you do felt like a teacher if you work here, unlike those small Language carm schools, they consider you are a money machine, and you don't feel like a real teacher, because you need to work till late evening, and sometimes you even have to work some SAT, work till late evening? work on the weekend?? that doesn't sound right, you don't mind I say this, but it seems like you don't have a life, with those hours, how can you enjoy the culture here? how can you meet with new people? make new friends? when is the last time you have a Awesome two days trip ? have you see a lot of other part of TAIWAN yet? those Mountain... seaside... shopping area department stores...etc do you have time to experience all those? and there are a lot more!! if you are not a Certificated teacher, then carm school is the only idea job, but if you are a certificated teacher, wake up now! give yourself a chance, and decide it right now, I Guaranteed this is worth for you to do it! and I know how to do it, and I will help you to do it, all you need to do is meet with me on monday morning, and I will take you to Ilan and we can see the school, see the area, see all other foreigner teachers there, and you can talk to the school Principal, only if you decide to give yourself a chance and go with me, then you can tell what is the different between your school and my High school! then you of course know what is the "right" place for you.
04. What is the monthly salary, how can I see a calendar and will I have the summer off. I need to return to the USA for family and business reasons.
04. the school working hours are from 8:10 to 17:10 , Monday to Friday. you shall receive a monthly compensation of NT$ 60,000 . plus another performance bonus of NT$3,000 per month, plus another attendance bonus of NT$2,000 per month, so that is total NT$ 65,000 every monthly. and " IF " , if you want more hours, the school have extra class for you, from PM7:00~PM10:00, and only two days per week, so each day 3 hours extra, it will be two hours teaching, and one hours for marking, the school will pay you $NTD1000 per hours extra(the school even paid for the one hour marking)... so total 6 hours per week, so time 4 weeks per month, we are talk about extra NT$ 32000 per month, add your original monthly day time salary NT$ 65000, total you will get NT$97000! that is a looot!
ok, about the vacation around summer time, the school have 4 weeks paid vacation, first two week form First of July to mid of July, then another two weeks paid holiday from Mid of AUG till end of AUG, and there are another paid Chinese New Year break for at least 5~7 days break.
of course the school provide a National Health Insurance policy and participate in the Labor Insurance Program, but more then that, the school also pay for a NT$ 2 million accident insurance for you ( after working permit is issued by the government)
the school lunch break is from 12:00~13:00. The Teacher is free to have lunch in campus or in the restaurant with the staff or the students at The School.
